GP’s play a critical role in Workcover by:
GP’s access patients work-work related injuries, provide treatment and develop plans, including timelines for potential return to work.
GP’s regularly access patients’ ability to perform work duties and provide fitness certificates or recommendations for modified duties.
Co-Ordinating with Insurers and Employers: GP’s liaise with Workcover Insurers to ensure a safe return to work or adjustments in their roles when needed.
All Workcover payments must be paid by the patient until a Workcover claim number is provided to the practice.
